Mablethorpe, Sutton-on-Sea and the surrounding villages, all form part of the Marathon course and offer the very best of what is part of Lincolnshires "Fun Coast". Mablethorpe and Sutton-on-Sea are the main hubs of activity catering for most taste. The area has some of the best beaches in Europe with miles and miles of golden sands bringing with it all that is best in the traditional British holiday. Beach Huts, Donkey Rides, Fun Fair, Miniature Train and Leisure Park, Paddling Pool, Sports Center, Many Shops, Cafe's, Seaside Rock, Ice Cream and Arcades. Throughout the season there are also a wide variety of  activities for young and old organised by some of the local groups at places such as the Meridale Hall in Sutton-on-Sea, Bowls at the Linkage Green Mablethorpe, Flower Shows, Car boot sales and Church Fetes. This years Mablethorpe Show is on Sunday 15th July on the playing fields at Tennyson High school.

At night the area comes alive with the illuminations and bright lights of the Fun Fair and the Arcades. You may perhaps choose to chill out at the Dunes Entertainment Centre, Loewen Cinema, or at one of the friendly Pubs, Hotels and Restaurants.

Nature provides one of the Resorts biggest attractions and located just North of the starting point for all the Marathon races at Sherwood Fields is the Famous Seal Sanctuary and Nature Centre. You will not only come face to face with lovable seals but a whole host of other animals too. There is a chance to travel back in time to the Jurassic period thanks to a time tunnel though the dinosaur era.

If you are entering into any of the Marathon events, why not pay us a visit, have a look at the course and perhaps linger a while and see what we have to offer. Like many runners last year you may wish to book accommodation and take a break after the event before traveling home.
